#3 Razorbacks Head to Inaugural SEC Match Play
FAYETTEVILLE – The #3 Arkansas men’s golf program heads to Birmingham, Ala., to play in the three-day, SEC Match Play, hosted by Jerry Pate, Oct. 10-12 at Shoal Creek Club.
Each of the 14 SEC teams will play four matches over the three days, including two matches on Sunday (Oct. 10). Seedings for the inaugural event are based on the finish at last spring’s SEC Championship. Arkansas will be the #2 seed and face Mississippi State Sunday morning starting at 8:20 am off hole #1. A win would pit the Razorbacks versus the Auburn/Ole Miss winner in the afternoon. Arkansas would face the loser of Kentucky/Georgia in the event of an opening-round loss.
On Monday and Tuesday, those without a loss will play in the afternoon winners’ bracket while the pool play rounds will be in the morning each day.
Like the SEC Championship, a team will need to win three of the five singles matches to secure a victory.
