Eugene, Ore. – The 21st-ranked Arkansas men’s golf team checked one goal off its list Sunday at the NCAA championship when it made the cut into the top 15 and the final round of stroke play at Eugene Country Club.

The Razorbacks posted a 9-over 289 and slid back three spots to sixth place overall at 15-over for the championship at 282-284-289 – 855 (+15). The top 15 teams will move on to Monday’s final round of stroke play with the top eight teams advancing to match play to determine a national champion.

Arkansas enters the final round four shots clear of eighth place and will look to advance to match play for the second time since the format was introduced in 2009. The Razorbacks advanced to the championship match in 2009 and lost to Texas A&M 3-2.

“The golf course was obviously a lot tougher today and the pins were really hard to get to,” head coach Brad McMakin said. “It’s going to be a grind tomorrow. I’m just excited our guys have the chance to go out there and compete to advance to match play.”

Tougher pin placements and faster greens led to high scores Sunday, but freshman Charles Kim continued his stellar play and led Arkansas for the second straight day, recording an even-par 70 with six birdies. He posted consecutive birdies three different times during the round and has played his way back into contention at 73-68-70 – 211 (+1).

Kolton Crawford and Nicolas Echavarria each recorded a 2-over 72 and Taylor Moore rounded out the scoring with a 5-over 75. Alvaro Ortiz dropped three shots on each side and finished with a 6-over 76.

The Razorbacks will go off the No. 1 tee Monday afternoon at 1:50 p.m. CT with No. 12 LSU and No. 20 Oregon.
