With the new NCAA Gymnastics Championships format, there will be three days of competition at each regional location. This year, the 36 advancing teams will be divided among 4 regional sites—9 teams at each site—for three days of elimination competition after which the top 2 teams at each site will advance to the national championship. At each site, the seven best-ranked teams automatically advance to the second day of competition. The first day is solely for the eight and nine seeds at each site to compete for the eighth slot on day two.

Arkansas placed second at the NCAA Columbus Regional in 2018, advancing to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2013.

The Razorbacks are coming off of a fifth place finish at the Southeastern Conference Championships, upsetting Kentucky, Auburn and Missouri with its second highest score at the Championship meet of 196.475. The Gymbacks have finished strong in the 2019 campaign, posting its three highest scores of the season in the final three weeks of competition. They join LSU as the only league teams to post their three highest scores of the year in the final three weeks of the season.
