Arkansas and Texas Set Home-and-Home Football Series

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas and Texas have agreed to a two-year, home-and-home football series beginning in 2008.

The Razorbacks visit their former Southwest Conference rival on Sept. 13, 2008. In 2009, Texas plays in Fayetteville on Sept. 12.

The two teams last met in 2004 with No. 7 Texas claiming a 22-20 victory in Fayetteville. In 2003, Arkansas upset No. 5 Texas in Austin, 38-28.

Texas leads the all-time series 55-21. UT’s win in 2004 snapped a three-game Arkansas winning streak. The Hogs won the last regular season meeting in 1991, 14-13 in Little Rock, the 2000 Cotton Bowl, 27-6, and the 2003 matchup in Austin.

As a result of the Texas series, Arkansas’ home-and-home series scheduled with Texas Christian has been pushed back to 2012.
