Arkansas falls at No. 25 LSU Friday

BATON ROUGE, La. – Unforced errors cost the University of Arkansas volleyball team a Southeastern Conference match win at No. 25 LSU Friday.

Arkansas fell to 10-11 overall and 4-7 in the SEC with the 22-30, 24-30, 25-30 loss at LSU as the Tigers improved to 17-4 overall and 9-3 in the league.

The Lady Razorbacks struggled with 31 hitting errors, five service errors and six reception errors in the three-game loss.

Arkansas hit just .023 with 34 kills and 31 errors. Freshman Heather Royal paced the team with 14 kills and .257 hitting percentage. She added 10 digs completing the double-double for Arkansas. Senior Jessica Dorrell was also in double figures with 12 kills and added eight digs for the Lady’Backs. Senior Ashley Miller led the team with 12 digs.

LSU hit just .194 in a match in which neither team brought its “A” game. LSU was paced by a pair of players with 11 kills each but they too struggled with average hitting performances.

The Lady Razorbacks must regroup as the team travels to Ole Miss for a Sunday afternoon match. That contest will air live on KXUA, 88.3 FM at 1:30 p.m. and on the internet at LADYBACKS.COM.
