Arkansas makes the turn on the second round

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The 10th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team was plus-eight after the first nine holes of the second round at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship in Albuquerque, N.M., Thursday. Light rain and cold temperatures just creeping over the 50 degree mark were a dramatic difference from yesterday’s 90-plus temps and 50 mile-per-hour winds. Arkansas’ second round has been stretched out over two days after play was suspended because of winds on Wednesday but the Lady Razorbacks were out to a good start. The Lady Razorbacks’ leader senior Stacy Lewis made the turn at plus-one pacing Arkansas. Lewis had the difficult task of starting play today in the middle of the fairway where she left off yesterday. She put the ball on the green but three-putting to pick up a stroke. Junior Lucy Nunn and sophomore Alex Schulte were each plus two at the turn. Nunn sank a 40-foot putt on the 18th green for birdie and Schulte birdied 17 after putting her tee shot close. Freshman Kelli Shean was plus three while sophomore Kristin Ingram was plus four at the turn.
