Arkansas native Julie Inman becomes second signee for Collen

FAYETTEVILLE – The state’s top shooting guard Julie Inman signed her National Letter of Intent to play women’s basketball for the University of Arkansas, Lady Razorback head coach Tom Collen announced.

Inman joins opening day signee Ashley Daniels of Coldwater, Miss., in the 2007 Lady’Back recruiting class.

The MVP of the Class AA tournament, Inman led Carlisle High School to the state title last season averaging 18 ppg, 5 rpg and 6 apg.

“Julie is great player and a great person,” Collen said. “She is one of the best players in the state this year, and she is a leader with the kind of personality that we hope will begin to bring other in-state players to Arkansas.”

With 1,542 points in her first three seasons at Carlisle, Inman is a three-time all-district and two-time all-state player. She averaged 20 ppg as a sophomore and 17 ppg as a freshman.

A veteran of state AAU basketball, Inman played last season for Coach Benny Brown’s squad that won the 2007 Junior Olympic national title.

During her sophomore season, Inman paced Carlilse into the state semifinals after winning the 6AA South title. In addition to earning letters in track, she is a three-year letterwinning cheerleader and served one season as the captain of the squad.

Inman is a honors student at CHS, hoping to follow in her father and grandfather’s footsteps to become a dentist after completing her degree at Arkansas.
