Arkansas softball travels to Missouri State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas softball team travels to Missouri State on Tuesday for a midweek doubleheader against the Bears that begins at 3 p.m. The Lady Razorbacks enter the contests with a 33-25 record. Missouri State is 24-17 and 12-8 at home. Arkansas takes on the Bears in its last midweek games before hosting Mississippi State at Lady’Back Yard this weekend. The Lady’Backs travel to Springfield, Mo., one day after returning home from Baton Rouge, La., where they were swept by the Tigers. Missouri State lost its last two of three against Southern Illinois and Arkansas is the Bears’ last home games of the year. The Lady’Backs were led by sophomore Jessica Bachkora last week who batted.500 with four hits. Sophomore Brittany Robison hit .375 with a home run and two RBI. Sophomore Sandra Smith and senior Dayna Huckabee added a pair of RBI on the weekend. Missouri State is led by Michelle Armentrout with a .306 average. She has team highs in doubles (10), home runs (6), RBI (28), slugging percentage .559 and on-base percentage (.409). Melissa Porche is the Bear’s ace with a 1.73 ERA and 237 strikeouts. Arkansas is 13-15 against the Bears and won the last four of five contests. The Lady’Backs last swept Missouri State at home in 2006. Live stats are available for Tuesday’s games on LADYBACKS.COM.
