ASG provides donation to ?Tusk Fund?

Associated Student Government (ASG) is teaming up with Razorback Athletics and Hog fans to help support Tusk, the official live mascot of the University of Arkansas. ASG has pledged $750 to the “Tusk Fund” to assist with the current mascot and to help ensure the future of the live mascot program. The support of Tusk is just one of the projects that the student government and the athletic department have come together on in their renewed partnership. “Tusk is our mascot and represents the lifeblood of the student body,” said ASG president Carter Ford. “We are glad the student body could make a contribution. It is important that the students at this University do their part in supporting Tusk.” In its ongoing effort to strengthen the Razorback brand and traditions, the University of Arkansas Athletics Department established the “Tusk Fund” to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the Arkansas live mascot. University of Arkansas Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long will be joined by several members of ASG on the field during the Red-White spring game Saturday for the presentation of the gift. The Red-White spring game is set for Saturday at 6 p.m. Admission to the game is free. Donations for the support of Tusk, who is going to be at the stadium, and the live mascot program are encouraged and will be collected at gates entering Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
