AT&T Boosts Gameday Mobile Internet Coverage in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — When a big play happens this season at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium football fans can enjoy stronger connections as they share the moment with friends and family.

AT&T* has boosted its mobile Internet coverage at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The company is upgrading its network by adding LTE capacity to the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to give customers a better wireless experience at the game.

“We are appreciative of AT&T’s commitment to helping ensure that Razorback fans can stay connected while watching Razorback Football at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium,” said Jeff Long, University of Arkansas vice chancellor and director of athletics. “Our partnership with AT&T has been instrumental in our continued efforts to provide fans with a fully interactive game day visit. AT&T’s latest investment will only serve to enhance that game day experience as they cheer on the Hogs in the 2015 season.”

The DAS consists of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&T’s wireless network coverage throughout Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. DAS technology helps improve customers’ wireless service by shortening the distance a call or text must travel. AT&T also expects the system upgrades to help improve call reliability and mobile Internet access.

“When our customers head out to the stadium to cheer on the Razorbacks, we want them to have a great network experience. This year, we’ve added even more capacity to our network inside and around Razorback stadium so Hog fans can have an improved experience making calls, posting pictures, or downloading apps at games,” said Ed Drilling, president of AT&T Arkansas and University of Arkansas alumnus. “We’re continuing to invest in our wireless network to help customers at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium stay connected from end zone to end zone.”

The DAS can provide stronger, more consistent wireless coverage to customers. Calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a traffic jam of other customers’ calls, texts and posts.

AT&T constantly invests in its network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. AT&T is also adding the latest network technology, such as small cells, to ensure customers have wireless service where they need it most.

These investments help Arkansas residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go. AT&T’s network has the nation’s strongest LTE signal,** and AT&T also has the nation’s most reliable LTE network.***

Over the past six years (2009-2014), AT&T invested nearly $140 billion including investments in its wireless and wireline networks, acquisitions of wireless spectrum and operations. Since 2009, AT&T has invested more in the U.S. than any other public company. In 2014, the Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. “Investment Heroes.” AT&T has invested nearly $600 million in its best-in-class wireless and wired networks in Arkansas between 2012 through 2014.
