Clark-Bibbs To Attend USA Volleyball Tryouts

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas standout Chanell Clark-Bibbs is set to participate in this weekend’s USA Volleyball National Team tryouts. The three-day event takes place Feb. 20-22 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. For the third-consecutive year, the Razorbacks will be represented in the field.

As a soon-to-be senior, Clark-Bibbs will be evaluated for potential placement with the U.S. National and Collegiate Team programs. The Houston, Texas, native has prior experience with USA Volleyball as a member of the Junior National Team that competed at the 2013 FIVB U-20 World Championships in the Czech Republic, where she played against teammate Ana Sofia Jusino who was representing Puerto Rico.

During her junior campaign, Clark-Bibbs was named to the All-SEC Team and was an AVCA All-South Region Honorable Mention performer. She led the team with a .337 hitting percentage and ranked among the top 20 in three statistical categories in the SEC at eighth in blocks per set, 12th in hitting percentage and 18th in points per set. Clark-Bibbs finished the year second on the team with 2.52 kills per set and registered a team-high 24 service aces.

She reached 10 or more kills in 13 matches during the season including nine double-digit performances during SEC play. In a five-set win at Georgia, Clark-Bibbs tallied a career-high 21 kills which was one of seven matches during the year with 14 or more kills. Defensively, she had 11 matches with five or more blocks.
