Connelly Has Weekend Plans At AT&T Byron Nelson

IRVING, Texas – Weather suspended Friday’s second round of the PGA Tour’s AT&T Byron Nelson held at TPC Four Seasons Resort but didn’t stop Arkansas men’s golf signee Austin Connelly from making the cut to advance to the weekend.

The only amateur in the field, Connelly opened play on Thursday with a one-under 69 and entered the weekend in a tie for 26th place after a three-under 66 despite having to finish the final four holes of the round Saturday morning.

The No. 1 player in the Junior Golf ranking who earlier in the spring won the Jones Cup, Connelly birdied his final two holes on Friday before having to return to the clubhouse due to weather. Play resumed on Saturday morning with Connelly picking up where he left off with a birdie on No. 8.
