Divers set for Zone Diving Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Three University of Arkansas divers will travel to Columbia, Mo. this weekend for the NCAA Zone ‘D’ Diving Championships. Senior Madison Palmer and freshmen Liana Bugslag and Alex Roman will compete at the meet in an attempt to qualify themselves for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships happening March 19-21.The three day meet will begin Friday afternoon for the Razorbacks with three-meter diving. On Saturday is the one-meter springboard event and platform diving will close the championships on Sunday morning.

Arkansas is hoping to qualify two of its divers for NCAAs, which would give the Razorbacks seven participants at this year’s championships, three more than last season when the squad qualified three swimmers and Palmer in diving.

Competing at Zones last year, Palmer scored a 543.55 on the one-meter springboard, qualifying her for NCAAs, where she was named an All-American in the event.

On Friday, the women’s three-meter diving event begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Mizzou Aquatics Center on the University of Missouri campus. For updated results and for complete coverage of Arkansas swimming and diving, log on to ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
