Former Razorbacks Join Basketball Broadcasts

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A pair of former Arkansas men’s basketball players are set to make their broadcast debuts this season, as Manuale Watkins and Kikko Haydar join the Razorback Sports Network as analysts for the 2017-18 campaign.

Watkins will make his first television appearance on Friday morning when the women’s basketball team opens its season at 10:30 a.m. against Sam Houston State, while Haydar will step behind the microphone on Sunday afternoon as the women’s team hosts Samford.

Both former players under Head Coach Mike Anderson will be analysts for two SEC Network Plus games on the men’s side, as Watkins will call games on Nov. 10 and Nov. 17, while Haydar will follow with games on Dec. 5 and Dec. 19.

Watkins is the son of Arkansas associate head coach Melvin Watkins and was a four-year letterwinner four the Razorbacks, helping Arkansas to two NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.

Haydar capped his four-year Razorback career following the 2013-14 season. He was named a team captain during his junior campaign and played professionally overseas for one season before coming back and serving as a graduate assistant under Anderson for two years.

Watkins and Haydar will join first-year senior broadcast manager Brett Dolan who handles play-by-play duties for SEC Network broadcasts originating from the Razorback Sports Network (RSN).
