Greenlaw Earns Second SEC Weekly Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Behind his fourth double-digit tackle performance of the season and his first career sack during Arkansas’ win at No. 9 LSU, linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Greenlaw is the only rookie in the SEC to earn the award twice this season.

Greenlaw’s 12 tackles led an Arkansas defense that held LSU 218 yards below its season average and 211 yards below its SEC average entering the game. His 12 stops marked the fifth time he’s led the Razorbacks in tackles since entering the starting lineup in week three and brings his total to 65 over the last six games.

With Arkansas leading 14-0 in the second quarter, Greenlaw stripped LSU quarterback Brandon Harris inside his own 20 yard line during his sack and the fumble was scooped up by fellow Fayetteville native Brooks Ellis. Just two plays later, Arkansas turned the turnover into points on Alex Collins’ 30th career rushing touchdown to take a commanding 21-0 lead.

Greenlaw’s 12 tackles brought his season total to 84, good for tops on the team, sixth in the SEC and tied for second among all FBS freshmen.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game against Mississippi State and can be purchased on ArkansasRazorbacks.com or by calling 1-800-982-HOGS.
