Gregory Earns Academic All-American Honors

FAYETTEVILLE-Freshman swimmer Emily Gregory was named to the College Swim Coaches Association of America Academic All-American Honorable Mention list, the CSCAA announced recently.

Gregory, a Burnsville, Minn., native and a butterfly specialist for the Lady Razorbacks, had a successful season in the pool as she set Arkansas school records in the 100 and 200 fly events at the Southeastern Conference Championship meet.

Arkansas swimming head coach Anne Goodman James said Gregory epitomizes the award with her hard work in and out of the water.

“What a great example (Gregory) of what being a true student-athlete is all about,” Goodman James said. “To accomplish national level times and such an outstanding grade point average, especially as a freshman, is truly remarkable. We are all very proud of her.”

The CSCAA requirements for honorable mention are to record a NCAA ‘B’ qualifying time and a 3.5 or higher GPA. Gregory had a 3.71 GPA and made a qualifying time at the SEC Championship meet.
