Henry scores 19 in win over Texas Southern

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorback men’s basketball picked up its 37th-consecutive non-conference home win with its 80-61 victory over the Texas Southern Tigers on Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks, who are now 5-1, had three players (Rotnei Clarke, Jason Henry and Michael Sanchez) score in double digits and recorded 20 assists against just 10 turnovers. Michael Washington led the team on the glass, grabbing seven defensive boards and two offensive rebounds for nine total.

Henry, with career highs in total points and rebounds, led the Hogs in scoring with 19 points. His line also included seven rebounds, one block and one assist.

DeAndre Hall led the Texas Southern scorers with 19 points, three assists and five rebounds. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 0-7.

Clarke pitched in with 16 points and Sanchez scored 10. Courtney Fortson had a solid outing as he dished out 11 assists with just one turnover, scored six points and recorded five rebounds, one block and one steal.

Texas Southern took a one-point lead with 14:55 to play in the first half. After Clarke hit a three pointer at the 14:13 mark, Arkansas never relinquished its lead.

At the end of the first half, the Cardinal and White held a 43-25 advantage over the Tigers. Henry led the Hogs with 10 points in the first 20 minutes.
