Hog Tennis Heads to No. 24 Tulsa

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 59 Arkansas tennis will head west to the University of Tulsa, ranked No. 24 in the current ITA/Fila poll, to face the Golden Hurricane, Thurs., Feb. 15, at 4 p.m.

Tulsa won the last meeting between the teams, 4-0, to advance to the final of the Central Region Qualifier in January.

The Razorbacks enter the match with a 5-4 record, coming off a 4-3 loss to Oklahoma at the Dills Tennis Center in Fayetteville. Arkansas won three of its last four home matches and the Razorbacks are currently 1-4 on the road.

The Golden Hurricane enters the match with a 5-2 record, coming off a weekend with a 5-2 win over No. 25 Cal and a loss to No. 19 Texas, 4-3.

Arkansas boasts 57th-ranked Blake Strode, who is 14-4 and 5-1 in duals. Tulsa’s roster sports three ranked players. Arnau Brugues, with a 6-0 dual record, is ranked sixth in the nation, Will Gray is 34th and Ricardo Soriano sits at No. 90.

The Tulsa match is the first of seven road matches for the Razorbacks. The squad will return to Fayetteville, Fri., March 9, to host Vanderbilt in its SEC home opener.
