Hogs Falls Short to #20 Missouri

Columbia, Mo. – The Arkansas swimming and diving team came up short in their meet against #20 Missouri. The Tigers put up a 174.5 team score to the Razorback’s 125.5 team score.

“I’m proud of our young ladies. It was a long contest diving 1m, 3m, and platform. It’s early in the season and Mizzou was a great measuring stick for us,” said Coach Sanchez. “We now know what we need to work on. In spite of it being early in the season, Grace Walker earned a qualifying score to the NCAA Zone championship on platform.”

Also, Coach Harper stated, “Our ladies competed well today. We won six events today and got eight second places and to do that against a top 20 SEC rival on the road is encouraging.”  “Our seniors led the way as Kobie, Vanessa and Andrea were exceptional winning five individual races and a relay between them. We are building great team chemistry and culture as we continue to work hard for our focus meets later this fall.”

Hog Highlights

  • Senior Kobie Melton had wins in the 100-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Backstroke
  • Senior Vanessa Herrmann had a win in 200-yard Breaststroke and 100-yard Breaststroke
  • Senior Andrea Sansores picked up a win in the 100-yard Butterfly
  • Sophomore Bella Cothern had a Personal Best Time in the 50 Freestyle with a 22.75
  • Freshman Grace Walker qualified for NCAA Zone Championship with her score of 239.03 in the Platform.
