Hogs Ranked 15th in Perfect Game Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After posting a three-game series sweep over North Dakota on opening weekend, the Arkansas baseball team moved up one spot to No. 15 in the latest Perfect Game USA Top 25 Poll released on Monday.

The Razorbacks are coming off a dominant opening weekend, knocking off North Dakota 11-4, 13-2 and 12-1 to complete the program’s sixth opening-weekend three-game sweep in the last eight years.

Arkansas scored 36 combined runs in the first three games of the year for the first time since plating 41 during the 2012 season against Villanova.

Following opening weekend, Arkansas led the Southeastern Conference in batting average at .421, hits with 48 and batters struck out with 39.

Clark Eagan led the way at the plate with a .571 batting average, going 8-for-14 with seven runs batted in and five runs scored. Zach Jackson and Dominic Taccolini each picked up wins on opening weekend and tallied eight strikeouts apiece.

Arkansas returns to action this weekend, traveling to Mobile, Alabama to battle three unbeaten teams at the University of South Alabama. The Razorbacks will play No. 22 UCF Friday, South Alabama Saturday and No. 11 Maryland Sunday with all three games being televised on Cox Sports Television.
