Hogs Tee It Up At The Darius Rucker
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The spring season continues for the No. 6 University of Arkansas women’s golf team at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Friday-Sunday.
The senior-dominated Razorback lineup includes All-Americans Maria Fassi and Dylan Kim along with Kaylee Benton and Cara Gorlei. Junior Grace St-Germain rounds out the traveling five this week.
It’s been a big week for Kim who was selected to the Palmer Cup and named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List. Fassi, the reigning ANNIKA Award winner, is also on the watch list.
Kim leads the sixth-ranked Razorbacks this season with a stroke average of 71.0 in five events. She has three third-place finishes and four top-9 places in five events. Fassi has a 71.36 stroke averaged with a T-4th place in her most recent outing. She has played her last three tournaments even shooting 216 in those events.
This is Arkansas’ eighth appearance at the Darius Rucker and the Razorbacks are the defending champion from a year ago. Fassi is the defending medalist shooting a 3-under 210 last year.
The field is one of the toughest of the season with third-ranked Duke, No. 4 UCLA, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 7 Vanderbilt and No. 10 South Carolina all in the hunt.
