Hogs host home meet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field will send some distance runners to the Mt. SAC Relays and the rest of the squad will stay home to compete in the John McDonnell Invitational. The meet in Fayetteville will be held Friday and Saturday, April 17-18.

The only collegiate events being contested Friday are the hammer throw and the 5,000 meters. Saturday will feature a full slate of collegiate events. Friday’s collegiate events will begin at 12 p.m. with the men’s and women’s hammer throw. Friday will wrap with the men’s and women’s 5,000 meters starting at 9 p.m.

Saturday’s events start at 9:30 a.m. with field events. Running will begin at 12 p.m. and running finals will start at 6 p.m.

Arkansas will also send a small contingent of distance runners to the Mt. SAC Relays, Thursday and Friday, in Walnut, Calif. Megan Jackson will compete in the steeplechase, Jillian Rosen and Samantha Learch in the 1,500 meters, Christine Kalmer in the 5,000 meters and Catherine White and Denise Bargiachi in the 10,000 meters.

Joining the Razorbacks in Fayetteville will be Brown, Drake, Iowa, Lincoln, Loyola, Missouri, Missouri Southern, No. 23 Nebraska, Northern Iowa, No. 21 Oklahoma, Oral Roberts and Rend Lake.
