Hosting Missouri State in Spring Finale

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After two weekends of road competition, the University of Arkansas volleyball team closes out its spring schedule Thursday with a home match against Missouri State. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena. The event is free and open to the public with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

“We have made some significant progress this spring semester,” head coach Jason Watson said. “Our staff and student-athletes have worked to create a great environment in practice. We have embraced growth and learning.”

In addition to the Spring Match, the Razorbacks will host a pre-match reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the north lobby (museum area) of Barnhill Arena for all season-ticket holders and program alums. If you’re planning to attend the reception, please fill out the survey at the following link:

Spring Match Reception

Arkansas opened its spring season April 2 with a tournament at Missouri State before traveling to Kansas City the following weekend for an event hosted by Kansas State and UMKC. The Razorbacks are in their first spring under Watson who was hired as the program’s head coach in January. Jon Newman-Gonchar joined the staff as the team’s associate head coach while Sarah Rumely and Allison Wack have continued their roles as assistant coach and director of operations, respectively.

“Thursday is our last structured event during the spring and we are thankful to Missouri State for traveling here to compete,” Watson said. “For us, competition in the spring is pretty low key but this is our last chance to measure our progress over the last four months.”

The Razorbacks’ spring roster features 10 letterwinners from last year’s team including All-SEC and AVCA All-South Region performers Pilar Victoria and Okiana Valle. Victoria is part of Arkansas’ seven-player senior class that also features Breana Jones, Danielle Harbin, Adrien Wohlschlaeger, Savannah Voelzke, Barbara Dapic and Ana Sofia Jusino.

Earlier this spring, Watson announced the summer camp dates which begin July 14-15 with Lil’ Backs Camp and conclude July 25-27 with the College Experience Camp. Registration is open with more details and information available at jwvb.org.
