ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Senior Kristin Ingram counted an even-par 73 leading the University of Arkansas women’s golf team to 13th place at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., Sunday.

The Razorbacks took part in the 18-team event at the UNM Championship Golf Course. It was the first event of the year for Arkansas and head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor saw some things the team needs to work on.

"We were a little competition-rusty coming out of the blocks," Estes-Taylor said of the weekend. "Kristin played well today but we’ve got some work to do to fix some weak spots."

Arkansas opened with back-to-back rounds Saturday finishing today with a 305 for a 908 (300-303-305) and 13th-place. Pepperdine won the event shooting 17-under 859 for the tournament.

Host New Mexico was second with 866, followed by UNLV and TCU tied for third with 883. Oregon rounded out the top five scoring 885.

Junior Kelli Shean was the low Razorback for the weekend. The Cape Town, South Africa, native finished tied for 17th with a 221 (75-70-76). Ingram moved up the leaderboard to a tie for 54 with a 229 (79-77-73), followed by Tiffany Phelps who tied for 62nd with 231 (78-76-77). Senior Alex Schulte tied for 62nd as well with 231 (72-80-79) and Corinna Rees rounded out Arkansas’ scores. She tied for 76th with 234 (75-80-79).

"I believe in these guys and know we’re capable of a lot better golf," said Estes-Taylor. "We need to go home and get to work. I saw glimpses of greatness but we have a lot of golf ahead of us. We want to get after it and work hard for our common goal."
