Jacobus, Parker Named to The Bowerman Mid-Indoor Watch List

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Lexi Jacobus and Kiara Parker were named to the Mid-Indoor Watch List for The Bowerman Wednesday afternoon as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Bowerman Watch Committee recognized Eighteen women in total with 10 of those athletes earning enough votes to be selected as a Watch List honoree, including Arkansas’ Lexi Jacobus and Kiara Parker. Payton Chadwick, who has lit up the track early and often this indoor season, also received votes.

A six-time First-Team All-American, Jacobus returns this season from a 2018 campaign which saw her vault to a bronze medal at the SEC Indoor Championships, a gold medal at the SEC Outdoor Championships, a gold medal at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and a silver medal at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She holds a personal best in the event of 4.70m/15-5, the No. 2 mark in program history and a clearance which earned her an Olympic berth during her freshman season in 2016. In 2019, Jacobus has officially cleared 4.51m (14-9.50) that is tied for the second-best clearance in the NCAA this season.

Parker, a USATF finalist at 100-meters in 2018, has earned All-American honors on three occasions and holds the program record in the 60-meters that she set earlier this season running 7.15 that not only was a meet record, program record, and personal-best but is currently tied for the third-best mark in the world in the event this season. This season Parker has recorded times of 7.15 in the 60-meters and 23.26 in the 200-meters as well as running a leg of the NCAA-leading Razorback 4×400-meter relay that holds a season-best time of 3:31.26

Payton Chadwick received votes and holds season-best times of 8.01 in the 60-meter hurdles and 22.97 in the 200-meters and also contributed on the Razorback 4×400 relay.

The next Watch List will be released on Feb. 27.
