Lady'Back Divers Compete in All Star Challenge

FAYETTEVILLE-The University of Arkansas diving team competes at the All Star Diving Challenge, Feb. 3-6, at the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando, Fla., with action starting Thursday at 9 a.m.

Head diving coach Scott Reich said he was excited for the competition that should prime the diving crew for the Southeastern Conference Championships.

“With the majority of our team being freshmen, this is great training for their future as Lady Razorbacks,” Reich said. “This meet should prepare us for conference.”

Reich said the challenge is an advantage for the Lady’Backs to gain additional training on events that are seldom competed in dual meets. Freshman Brieanne Kushner is the only Arkansas diver that has qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships and Reich said he hopes other Lady’Backs qualify at the challenge.

“For us, this is only the second meet this year that we will have competed in the platform, so this will be great practice before conference,” Reich said. “Jamie (Hyslop) and Hilarie (Wilson) will be preparing on tower, with Brieanne (Kushner) focusing on the springboards.”
