Lady'Backs Excited for Conference Meet

FAYETTEVILLE-The University of Arkansas swimming team begins competition at the Southeastern Conference Swimming Championships Feb. 16-19 with races starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Gainesville, Fla.

The Lady Razorbacks are in eighth-place with 23 points after the diving competition last week with freshman Brieanne Kushner leading the way for Arkansas as she scored in all three diving events.

Head coach Anne Goodman James said she is exited to see the accomplishments of her team after the season of preparation.

“Obviously, all of our training has focused on this one meet,” Goodman James. “Practices in the last month have been truly phenomenal. We have the potential to see some amazing performances.”

Goodman James said the Lady’Backs will not only be focusing on the team score but also individual performances that qualify for the NCAA Championship.

“Whitney Lynn and Zsuzsa Csobanki are our best hope for finalists and automatic qualifiers,” Goodman James said. “A couple of people to watch are Mariann Fulop and Emily Gregory. We could see great things from them.”

Lynn and Csobanki have qualified for NCAA ‘B’ cuts. Lynn in the 500 and 1,650 freestyle and Csobanki made the time in the 50 freestyle.
