Lady'Backs release SEC portion of 2006-07 schedule

FAYETTEVILLE – A home conference opener with Mississippi State and an early February home stand are the highlights of the Southeastern Conference portion of the University of Arkansas’ women’s basketball schedule.

With the completion of the conference schedule by the league office this past weekend, the Lady Razorbacks’ full schedule is ready for the 2006-07 season. Arkansas released the non-conference portion of its schedule earlier this summer.

The Lady’Backs begin the SEC slate on the road at Vanderbilt on Jan. 4 before returning to Bud Walton Arena on Jan. 7 for the league home opener against MSU. Vanderbilt and Miss State are Arkansas’ rotating home-and-home games for this season.

Arkansas has the first of its two open dates the following Thursday prior to a road trip to Auburn on Jan. 14. After hosting Alabama on Jan 18, the Lady’Backs play back-to-back road games at Florida on Jan. 21 and LSU on Jan. 25.

Arkansas’ big home stand begins on the last Sunday of January with Vanderbilt. After a Thursday game at Miss State on Feb. 1, the Lady’Backs play three straight at Walton Arena starting with Ole Miss on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 4, followed by South Carolina on Feb. 8 and LSU on Feb. 15.

The final two weeks of the season include Arkansas’ second open date before heading to Lexington to face Kentucky on Feb. 18. Arkansas hosts Tennessee for Senior Night on Feb. 22 then closes the regular season at Georgia on Feb. 25.

There is one schedule change from the previously released non-conference schedule as Arkansas moves up its home date with SMU to Dec. 13 to accommodate the Walton Arena schedule.

Game times for the full schedule are tentative awaiting the release of the SEC TV schedule and the selection of games by other cable networks.
