Lady'Backs to Make Waves at Red-White

FAYETTEVILLE-The University of Arkansas swimming and diving team begins the 2005-06 season with the Red-White meet, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 3:30 p.m. inside the Arkansas Natatorium.

The Lady Razorbacks welcome eight new members to the team joining the 10 returning members from last year’s squad.

Arkansas swimming head coach Anne Goodman James said she is looking forward to seeing her team in action before the season opener against Nebraska, Oct. 15.

“With such a large freshmen class, we need an opportunity to see them in a competitive race environment before we try to make lineups,” Goodman James said. “It’s great for coaches to see how our team shapes up.”

Goodman James said the Lady’Backs are excited about the meet. Junior Kristen Thibodeaux is the captain of the Red team while redshirt freshman Madison Palmer directs the White team.

“After several weeks of training, they are ready for a competitive outlet,” she said. “They really put it on the line and race hard.”
