Lewis remains in the hunt at LPGA State Farm Classic

FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas senior Stacy Lewis carded a second-round 71 at the 2007 LPGA State Farm Classic in Springfield, Ill., Friday and will make the cut to weekend play. The Woodlands, Texas, native fired back-to-back rounds of one-under 71 for 142. Lewis came off the golf course tied for 33rd overall with 17 other players including Morgan Pressel and Karrie Webb. Sherri Steinbauer leads the field at 11-under 133 with rounds of 67-66. Christina Kim is second at 135 followed by Annika Sorenstam with a 136. Play continues on the par 72, 6,608-yard Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Mo., Saturday and Sunday. The State Farm Classic is the third LPGA event Lewis has played in this year and the first of two consecutive as she will take part in the LPGA NW Arkansas Championship presented by John Q.
