Marks Moves On To Match Play At 86th Florida Amateur
PLACIDA, Fla. – University of Arkansas sophomore Samantha Marks is tied for seventh place after two rounds at the 86th Women’s Amateur at Coral Creek Club in Placida, Fla.
Marks posted rounds of 69-75=144 on the opening days of stroke play. Her first-round, two-under 69 featured for birdies. She finished stroke play with five total birdies and 25 pars.
Marks faces Alexa Pano of Lake Worth, Fla., in her first match Monday Monday.
The format for the five day event begins with 36 holes of stroke play on Saturday and Sunday. The field is cut to the low 32 players who will complete in match play for the title. The round of 32 matches takes place Monday morning and the round of 16 will be Monday afternoon. The quarterfinals take place Tuesday morning followed by the semifinals in the afternoon. The final 18-hole championship match tales place Wednesday morning.
