No. 14 Arkansas Headed North For Badger Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After finishing runner-up in the season opener at the Hurricane Invitational, No. 14 Arkansas men’s cross country team will travel to Madison, Wisconsin this Friday, Sept. 14 to compete in the Badger Classic at the site of the 2018 NCAA Championships – Zimmer Championship Course.

The second meet of the year will see the Razorbacks take on elite opponents including host No. 9 Wisconsin. The 8K race is set to begin at 2:40 p.m. The scoring and chip timing will be conducted by Eclipse Race Timing and will be posted on uwbadgers.com following the races Friday afternoon.

Heading into the meet, Sophomore Matt Young leads the conference with a four-mile time of 20:14 – a full 15-seconds ahead of the next fastest competitor in the conference. For the season, Arkansas’ athletes who competed in Tulsa two weeks ago all fall inside the top-seven in the conference in the four-mile run.

Arkansas is currently No. 14 in the USTFCCCA national rankings as well as holding the top spot in the South Central Region.
