No. 16 Razorbacks Power Past Ole Miss
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks (8-2-0, 3-0-0 SEC) climbed out of a 1-0 deficit at halftime, scoring four unanswered goals to defeat Ole Miss (7-2-2, 2-1-0 SEC), 4-1. Arkansas held the Rebels to two shots in the second half, and launched 13, connecting on four of them.
The win extended the Hogs’ streak to eight, tied for the longest streak in program history.
How it Happened
Ole Miss quickly applied pressure with an early shot, saved by Hannah Warner. The Rebels connected in the 11th minute after a corner kick from the far side was sent into the box. After several touches, forward Mo O’Conner scored for the opposition off the hands of Warner
Arkansas returned pressure right out of the halftime break. Midfielder Taylor Malham tied things up two minutes into the period. Malham took the rebound off a deflected shot, which came from freshman Sophia Aragon, and sent it past the Ole Miss keeper for her fifth goal of the season.
The Razorbacks took the lead in the 62nd minute with junior Anna Podojil’s first goal of the day. Aragon found Podojil at the top of the six-yard box, where she let loose a shot into the top of the net.
The Hogs didn’t let up. Malham found sophomore Ava Tankersley at the top of the six-yard box, after a lob pass from midfield. Tankersley sent it through the box and into the back of the net for her third of the season.
Arkansas added insurance in the 84th minute with Podojil’s second of the day. Malham met Ava Benedetti in the near corner, where Benedetti sent a cross into the back of the six-yard box. Sophomore Kiley Dulaney pulled two defenders near the goal, allowing Podojil open space for the finish.
Podojil earned her second brace, netting her seventh and eighth goals of the season.
The Razorbacks finished the match outshooting the Rebels 22-8. The Hogs have outscored their last eight opponents, 29-2.

“We were down at home for the first time. Ole Miss is a good team, and we knew the second half would need our best. It was a good response; we had a lot of players step up today. We have a full week of training to sort some things out. The players earned a tough six points on the weekend.”

The Razorbacks hit the road again, this time to face Georgia (8-2-1, 1-1-1 SEC) on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 12 p.m. CT. The match will be televised on ESPNU.
