The Razorbacks opened the spring with a runner-up finish in Puerto Rico in February. Freshman Maria Fassi, who joined the team in December, won the tournament shooting 72-67-69=208, winning by one stroke.

Fassi will again travel for Arkansas along with senior Regina Plasencia, sophomore Alana Uriell, freshman Cara Gorlei and junior Summar Roachell.

Arkansas had a solid fall with a tournament team title and three other finishes in the top-three. The success vaulted the Razorbacks up in the national polls but Arkansas lost arguably its top player in Gabriela Lopez in December when she qualified for her LPGA Tour card and became a professional.

The addition of Fassi should help the Razorbacks in the spring portion of the schedule which gets busy fast. Arkansas travels to the LSU Tiger Classic March 20-22; the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic April 1-3 and begins postseason play at the SEC Championship in Birmingham, Alabama, April 15-17.
