O'Malley Named SEC Player of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE-Arkansas softball junior outfielder Mindy O’Malley was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced.

The Lady Razorback center fielder finished the week with a .588 batting average and 10 hits. O’Malley scored seven runs in five games and collected four stolen bases.

Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton said he pleased with O’Malley’s selection as it is the first conference honor for a Lady’Back this season.

“I’m extremely proud for her,” Pinkerton said. “It’s a good award and when the team plays well, individual awards follow. She’s worked hard and had a good week.”

O’Malley leads the team with 29 runs this year and is third in batting averages with a .279 mark. She also has 13 stolen bases this season.
