Pair of Razorbacks race in finals on last day of US Championships

EUGENE – Final day action at the USATF Championships involved a pair of finalists for the Arkansas program with Logan Jolly and Katie Izzo competing in the 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m at Hayward Field on Sunday.

Jolly clocked a time of 9:46.91 to finish 11th in the steeplechase final in the same venue she produced a pair of Arkansas school records during the NCAA Championships earlier this month.

Izzo, another Arkansas alum, finished 17th in the 5,000m final with a time of 16:13.05.

Arkansas alum Kiara Parker raced in the semifinal of the 200m, posting a time of 23.17 in the second of two heats for eighth place, finishing 16th overall.

The weekend was productive for the Razorbacks with three athletes with ties to the Arkansas program advancing to the World Championships – Britton Wilson and Shamier Little in the 400m hurdles and Sandi Morris in the pole vault.

Other Razorback qualifiers for the World Championships include Tina Sutej of Slovenia in the pole vault and Dominique Scott in the 10,000m for South Africa.

Cindy Sember of Great Britain, who trains in Fayetteville with Razorback associate head coach Chris Johnson, won the 100m hurdles at the UK Athletics Championships in Manchester with a time of 12.56 to qualify for the World Championships.
