Perico, Fernandez de Oliveira Earn All-Region

NORMAN, Okla. – Arkansas seniors Julian Perico and Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira added to their already impressive resumes as the duo was named to the PING All-Central Region team, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced today.

Perico joins Sebastian Cappelen as the only Razorbacks to be four-time GCAA/PING All-Region honorees. Fernandez de Oliveira has earned All-Region honors in each of his two years with the Razorbacks. Overall, 19 Arkansas golfers have earned a total of 35 All-Region honors, including 16 straight years with at least one Razorback making the team.

Perico has posted 70.94 scoring average to date with a team-best 21 rounds of par or better. He led the team in scoring in four events, including a fourth-place finish at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (the third-toughest tournament in college golf in 2022-23) and a sixth-place finish at the SEC Championship (the 10th-toughest).

Fernandez de Oliveira, the 2023 Latin America Amateur Champion, has a season scoring average of 70.88, thanks to a win at the Hal Williams Collegiate where he was 15-under par for the three rounds. He leads the team with eight top-20 finishes and 12 rounds in the 60’s while trailing Perico by one with 20 rounds of par or better. He also led the team in scoring four times and fired the team’s low round 14 times to pace the Razorbacks.

Perico led the Razorbacks in scoring three times and Fernandez de Oliveira led the squad last year and is leading the team this year. Perico and Fernandez de Oliveira in the UA Record Book (averages are prior to NCAA Championship):
