Pulliza picks up two TV matches

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas volleyball team learned two matches will be televised for the 2009 season. The Razorbacks, who opened at home Tuesday, host LSU Sunday Nov. 8 in a match that airs on CSS at 1 p.m. Central. Arkansas’ road match at Alabama Nov. 15 airs on FS South at 1 p.m. Both matches are live broadcasts. This year’s 16-match schedule is the most comprehensive volleyball schedule for the Southeastern Conference. Last year’s schedule televised just five matches on FSN. The 2009 coverage expanded including ESPNU and CSS as well as FSN. The Razorbacks opened the year 1-2 at the TCU Invitational and host Texas-Arlington tonight as non-conference action continues. Freshman Amanda Anderson earned all-tournament team honors in her first weekend of collegiate volleyball at TCU. Anderson, a Euless, Texas, native, hit .436 with 30 kills in three matches. Freshman Jasmine Norton exploded onto the Razorback volleyball scene with 23 kills and 17 digs in her first match and sophomore Phoebe Bautista tallied a career-best 29 digs against TCU in the opener. The Razorbacks travel to the Virginia Tech Invitational Friday-Saturday and to Tulsa Sept. 8. Arkansas returns home hosting the Arkansas Invitational Sept. 11-12.
