FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The University of Arkansas Men’s Athletic Department will broadcast 15 games this season on a hispanic baseball radio network. KYNG 1580 LaMaquina and KHGG 1590 AM ESPN Desportes in Fort Smith will carry the broadcasts with Carlos Chicas and Jose Lopez providing the play-by-play.

The broadcast schedule began in March 8, 2008 and continues with the Saturday and Sunday games this weekend when Arkansas hosts the Georgia Bulldogs.

“We are very excited to continue the growth in our Razorback broadcast family,” said Matt Shanklin, Associate Athletic Director and General Manager of the Razorback Baseball Radio Network. “It is a great opportunity to extend the excitement of Razorback Baseball into an ever growing segment of the population of Northwest Arkansas. We hope to continue this growth ultimately to other areas of the state.”

Last year, Razorback Baseball had its first games ever broadcast in spanish when three games aired locally in Fayetteville. Last fall, six Razorback Football games also aired in spanish on three stations in the state of Arkansas.
