Razorback Golfers Begin Play at Wolf Pack Invitational

RENO, Nev. – The Arkansas men’s golf team opens play at their second tournament of the new season on Tuesday at the Wolf Pack Invitational at the Arrow Creek Golf Course in Reno, Nev.

The 54-hole event begins with two rounds on Tuesday and concludes with 18 holes on Wednesday. This is the first time Arkansas has competed in the Wolf Pack Invitational.

“We are looking at this as an opportunity to get this season on track,” Arkansas head coach Mike Ketcham said. “We didn’t play up to our expectations last week, and this is our chance to come out and make a statement.”

The Razorbacks finished ninth at the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions in Knoxville, Tenn., two weeks ago.

Arkansas heads to Reno with six golfers to fill five team slots. The five-man team will be determined after today’s practice round at Arrow Creek Golf Course.

Junior Matt Bortis leads the Hogs’ contingent that includes true freshman Jordan Payne, sophomore Scotty Campbell, sophomore Eric Shriver, junior Beau Glover and sophomore Allen McFerran.

The sixth man for Arkansas will compete as an individual as the Hogs look to get as much experience as possible this fall.
