Razorback Golfers Head to NIT Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s golf team begins play in the NIT Invitational on Sunday at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club.

The 54-hole tournament is scheduled for 18 holes a day on March 26-28. Nine of the 14 teams participating in the event are nationally ranked. The Omni Tucson National Golf Club is a par 72, 7,094-yard layout that the Razorbacks have had success on in the past.

Arkansas shot a 23-under-par 841 to finish second at last year’s NIT Invitational. Matt Bortis captured medalist honors with a 12-under-par 204.

Bortis is joined in the starting lineup by Scotty Campbell, Eric Shriver, Beau Glover and Josh Farrell.

Nine teams in the field are currently ranked in the March 16 GCAA/Bridgestone Top 25 Coaches Poll. The following teams are scheduled to compete (ranking): Arizona State (8), Arkansas, Fresno State, Kent State, Minnesota (T25), New Mexico (T25), Pepperdine (20), Texas Christian, Tulsa (15), UCLA (5), UNLV (7), USC (22), Washington (24) and host Arizona.
