Razorback Golfers tied for 11th after Second Round of NIT Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz.The Arkansas men’s golf team is tied for 11th place after a two-under-par round of 286 and a two-day total of 583 following the second round of the NIT Invitational at the OMNI Tucson National Golf Club on Monday.

UCLA leads the tournament after two rounds of action, shooting a 14-under-par 562 two-day total. Arizona State is close behind and in second with a 12-under-par 564. TCU and Arizona are tied for third with a tournament score of four-under-par.

Scott Campbell carded the Hogs best finish in the second round with a 3-under-par 69, finishing the day tied for 9th place. Matt Bortis is close behind finishing with a 1-under-par 71. Bortis is tied for 36th going into the final day of action.

Josh Farrell and Eric Shriver both finished with a 1-over-par 73 second day score. Farrell is now tied for 53rd place and Shriver moved up to share 74th. Beau Glover is tied for 78th after a 5-over-par 77 on Monday.

Arizona State’s Alejandro Canizares leads the field. Canizares shot a one-under-par 71 for the second round and is six-under-par with a 138 tournament score. Jay Choi of New Mexico, Eric Flores of UCLA and Niklas Lemke of Arizona State are all five-under-par for the tournament and share second place.

The Hogs will complete NIT Invitational play on Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m.
