@RazorbackBSB Jumps Into Trio of National Polls

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A day after picking up a series win on the road against the No. 1 team in the country, the Arkansas baseball team was ranked No. 25 by D1Baseball and Baseball America and No. 30 by Collegiate Baseball.

Surging into April as one of the hottest teams in the nation, the Razorbacks have won 10 of their last 13 games and are the only program in the SEC to win each of their last four conference series.

Arkansas shocked consensus No. 1 Texas A&M last weekend, rallying from five runs down in the final two innings to capture game two, before exploding at the plate in game three to hand the Aggies their first series loss of the year.

The Razorbacks improved to 3-3 on the year against the No. 1 team in the country and 5-4 against the nation’s top team over the last two seasons. Arkansas is currently alone in third place in the SEC West standings, sitting only behind LSU and Texas A&M, the nation’s top two teams.

Arkansas had four position players hit over .400 last week, as Brett McAfee, Tyler Spoon, Andrew Benintendi and joe Serrano combined to record 33 hits, 24 runs, 22 RBI and 12 walks. Benintendi’s performance earned him SEC Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Arkansas will go for its fifth consecutive SEC series win this weekend, hosting Mississippi State in a three game set at Baum Stadium. The two teams will play Friday at 6:35 p.m., Saturday at 6:05 p.m. and Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Click here for tickets.
