Razorbacks Head to Texas and Missouri For Weekend Meets

Fayetteville, Ark.- The Arkansas Swim and Dive team will split up this weekend with the team’s divers heading to Austin, Texas for the UT Diving Invitational and the swimmers heading to Columbia, Missouri for the Mizzou Invitational.

The divers will be competing against Texas and LSU over three days beginning on Thursday at the Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. This will be the first time the divers have competed since Brooke Schultz took home SEC Diver of the Week honors for her performance against Missouri on November 7th. Schultz swept both the 3-meter and 1-meter events at Mizzou in the team’s first meet of the season.

The swimmers will compete against Missouri and Kentucky beginning on Thursday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Swimming prelims will begin at 9 a.m. daily with swimming finals set for 6 p.m. each of the three days. The Razorbacks are coming off a great performance at the U.S. Open last weekend setting two new school records, posting six Olympic Trial cuts, winning seven gold medals while setting 12 new personal bests.

Quotables

Arkansas Head Coach Neil Harper: “We are excited to have the opportunity to compete against Kentucky and Missouri over the next three days. Our ladies have worked hard this semester and now it is time to put that work and new technique and skill acquisition to the test. It will be fun to race and challenge ourselves over a three-day championship schedule and get to swim prelims and finals of every event.”

Arkansas Diving Coach Dale Schultz: “Really excited to be here at the Texas Diving Invite. Texas and LSU have very strong diving programs, it’ll be a good challenge for our divers.”
