Razorbacks Host ORU Wednesday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It’s back to work for the University of Arkansas women’s basketball team as they host Oral Roberts in a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday in Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks (4-2) are coming off a thrilling come-from-behind win over a previously undefeated Wisconsin team last weekend. Senior Malica Monk stole a pass and scored the game-winner with just over four seconds to play erasing a 15-point Badger lead.

Arkansas has many different scoring options this season and head coach Mike Neighbors has used several lineups in the first six games. Redshirt sophomore Chelsea Dungee leads the team with 15.5 points per game followed by junior Alexis Tolefree averaging 15.0 ppg. Senior Monk, the team’s leading scorer from a year ago, averages 12.3 ppg and leads the team in assists.

Senior Bailey Zimmerman had her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds against Pitt last weekend. Junior Jailyn Mason has had two double-figure scoring games and senior Raven Northcross-Baker is one of the leading 3-point shooters from a year ago.

Arkansas is also getting good inside play from junior Kiara Williams and sophomore Taylah Thomas. Williams has been in double figures twice with one double-digit rebounding effort this season. Thomas has also put up double-digit points and boards.

ORU enters the week with a 3-3 record and are winners of its last two contests. Lakota Beatty is one of four Golden Eagles averaging double figures, leading the team with 15.3 ppg.
