Razorbacks Return Home To Face No. 5 Tigers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 21 Arkansas gymnastics team is set to return home this Friday to host the No. 5 Fighting Tigers of LSU inside Barnhill Arena. Tickets for the meet can be purchased here.

RETURNING TO FORM
Arkansas returned to form on the balance beam, with all six scores totaling 9.800 or higher. Junior Michaela Burton posted the second highest score in program history with a 9.950 as the team’s anchor at Auburn.

CARTER (STILL) OWNING THE FLOOR
Sophomore Sophia Carter again posted a 9.900 on the floor against Auburn. She has five floor titles in seven meets this season. She is one of eight gymnasts in the SEC with five scores of 9.900 or higher on the floor.

HOME STRETCH
After just two home meets in its first seven contests, the Razorbacks host LSU and Florida in consecutive competitions inside the friendly confines of Barnhill Arena. Arkansas hosted Oklahoma and Alabama earlier this season in its only home meets.

MCGLONE’S CONSITENCY
Senior Sydney McGlone is prospering in her return from injury. She has posted no score lower than 9.800 on vault this season and has scored at least one 9.900 in an event in three of four meets. The Dublin, Ohio native has scored a 9.800 or higher in 12-of-14 events competed this season.

PACKING THE BARN
Arkansas is hosting its second annual ‘Pack The Barn’ meet inside Barnhill Arena. Last season, the Razorbacks drew nearly 5,500 fans, while setting numerous team records and defeating Georgia for the third time in program history.

ELSWICK DEBUTS ON FLOOR
Standout freshman Amanda Elswick added an event to her repertoire against Auburn, debuting on the floor. The Austin, Texas native posted a 9.800 in her first appearance as the freshman has scored a 9.8 or higher in 7-of-11 meets this season.

SHAFFER STRONG IN RETURN
After being forced to sit out the meet against Alabama with an injury, sophomore Sarah Shaffer returned at Auburn with three big 9.875’s on vault, bars and floor, setting a season high on vault and bars.
