Razorbacks continue Fall Ball with Sunday games

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorback softball team will host teams from Crowder and Drury on Sunday for the Arkansas Fall Invitational, the team’s third fall event of the season. Sunday’s games—three in total—will begin at 11 a.m. and be played at Bogle Park.Crowder and Drury will open the day of competition with an 11 a.m. matchup. Arkansas’ first of two games is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. with a game against Drury. The Razorbacks will close out the day’s event with a 4 p.m. contest against Crowder.Arkansas is 2-2 during the fall season with wins against Pittsburg St. (6-1) and Seminole (8-0). The Razorbacks’ two losses came at the hands of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (10-7) and Tulsa (9-6). Through four games, the Arkansas offense is led by Jessica Bachkora with her seven hits and .467 batting average. Miranda Dixon and Kayla Johnson have collected five hits each and are hitting .455 and .385, respectively. Johnson has a team-high eight RBI and two triples.On the mound, freshman Kelsie Vallies carries a team-leading 1.50 earned run average in six innings of work. Kim Jones has thrown a team-high 6.1 innings and leads the team with eight strikeouts. Dixon and Teighynne Hulsey have each logged five innings.

This will be Arkansas’ next to last fall event with the final competition, the Razorback Fall Invitational, scheduled for Oct. 11 at Bogle Park.
