Razorbacks head north for second weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.-The University of Arkansas men’s golf team travels to Wayzata, Minn., for the Fourth Annual Gopher Invitational, Sept. 12-14.

Hot off last week’s team win and a course record- setting score courtesy of freshman Ethan Tracy in Maryland, the Razorbacks look to this week for another strong showing.

Tracy was the medalist last week. He will be joined by junior David Lingmerth, sophomore Samuel Chavez and seniors Andrew Landry and Allen McFerren in Arkansas’ traveling five.

“This course favors David and Andrew,” head coach Brad McMakin said. “They will be our 1-2 punch to help contend this week.”

Arkansas faces 11 teams at the Spring Hill Golf Club. Teams include Iowa, Iowa State, LSU, Marquette, Pepperdine, Southern Methodist, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Yale.

As a team, the Razorbacks tied for second at last year’s event shooting 890 (298-295-297), while individually Landry ended with a 4-over 220, and Lingmerth just one stroke back a 5-over 221.
