Razorbacks headed to Tallahassee

FAYETTEVILLE – The NCAA announced late Monday night that the No. 21 Arkansas Razorback baseball team will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to take on the No. 6 Florida State Seminoles in NCAA Super Regional action beginning on Friday. All three games will be aired on TV with ESPN carrying the Friday and Sunday games and ESPN2 showing Saturday’s contest. All three games start at 11 a.m. central

The Razorbacks (37-22) advanced to the Super Regional by winning three straight games at the NCAA Norman Regional this past weekend defeating No. 24 Washington St., 10-3, and No. 9 Oklahoma, 17-6 and 11-0. Florida State (45-16) hosted the Tallahassee Regional and advanced with victories over Marist, Georgia and Ohio State.

Arkansas’ trip to the Super Regional is its third since the NCAA adopted the format in 1999. The Razorbacks’ first trip ended in a three-game loss to host Clemson in 2002 and in 2004 Arkansas defeated Florida St. in two games to advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
