@RazorbackSB Cancels Wooo Pig Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Due to anticipated inclement weather, the University of Arkansas softball team has canceled this weekend’s Wooo Pig Classic that was scheduled to be played Feb. 27 through March 1 at Bogle Park. The Razorbacks will instead travel to Hammond, La., to take part in a tournament hosted by Southeastern Louisiana. Arkansas is part of a four-team field that also includes Alcorn State, UT-Martin and host Southeastern Louisiana.

Play at the weekend event begins Friday and will continue through Sunday. The Razorbacks are scheduled for five games with two Friday, two Saturday and one Sunday. Game times and tournament schedule have yet to be determined and will be released when finalized. Updates will be posted to ArkansasRazorbacks.com. With the latest schedule update, the Razorbacks’ home opener is now set for March 10 in a midweek game against Tulsa.

In its last outing, Arkansas (7-7) completed an undefeated weekend at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla., with victories over George Washington, Jacksonville State, Marist and Virginia. Kasey Fagan hit .643 during the four-game set while Sydney Wright was 3-0 in the circle with a pair of complete-game performances. The Razorbacks also got home runs from Stephanie Canfield, Shelby Hiers and Kate James.
